November 13 A "My Space" AdventureSo I'm coming to the conclusion that it is impossible to actually find someone you know on internet (without paying for it that is.) A co-worker recently gave me their e-mail address in the hopes of seeing her My Space page, and I'll be damned if I can't find her. Then again, the search engine isn't exactly clear on how to use it. Why does this have to be so hard? Who hell designs these things anyway?
Oh well, no use complaining about it. I suppose it could be worse. November 06 Still alive, still breathin'I just wanted to drop a line, mostly to myself, to let everyone know that I'm still alive and well. Life has been throwing me a few lemons these past few months. Mostly in the form of financial woes, but enough to make me want to pull my hair out. I'm taking a creative writing course this semester (college) and I must say it is nice to finally get a little feedback on my work. I actually managed to get the entire class to participate in a readthrough. I was excited, but very nervous. It's been a long time since I had to read something in front of a classroom. At one point I thought for sure I was going to throw up. I used to do a lot of theater back in the day. I'm normally not one to yank my own chain, but I was good at it. Very good at it in fact. However, I never went to college after High School and instead opted to party my life away for the past seven years. It wasn't until recently that I decided to pony-up and go back. Now, I have a year of school under my belt and I must admit...I hate it.
The creative writing course is awsome, but I can't stand my professors anymore. All they ever do is piss me off and it is taking every last ounce of my willpower to not walk up to the middle of the room and punch my math teacher in the nose. The guy is a douch-bag. Period. November 12 Just For the Sake of TryingSo, just because it sounded like a cool idea, I've decided to try and get into contact with some of my old friends from Washington state. Some of those friends include, but are not limited to: John McQuade, Kelli Jorgenson, Chris Allen, and Jarred McQuade. Granted, none of these names are what you would call uncommon, so just to narrow the search down, we all went to Lakota Jr. High in Federal Way, WA and graduated as the class of 2000. So if anyone out there fits the bill, drop me a line and say hello. I would be glad to hear from you. July 19 My Hopeful Future...Well, as many of you may know I am aspiring to become a screenwriter. I just made my first attempt at selling a script. Needless to say it don't go very well. I decided to go with the all conventional "over the phone" sales pitch and didn't even make it past the secretary. At least I think it was secretary. Either way, I only managed to blurt out a single question, "Does you company except unsolicited material?" only to recieve a flat "No." There really is no point in asking more questions after that since your obviously not going to sell the script over the phone.
Anyway, that was my big day. Ten companies and all had the same response. Talk about a kick in the balls. |
